The first in a 2 volume set of compositions for piano by Argentina's premier composer Alberto Ginastera, performed by one of Argentina's premier pianists Eduardo Delgado. Ginastera, intrigued with his country's folk music heritage, used elements from this rich tradition, including songs of the Gaucho (Agentinian cowboy) and children's songs. This recording features Ginastera's earliest works composed between 1934 and 1947. Recorded in one day (!) on a Hamburg Steinway at Kirara Hall, Akiruno city, Japan. (MA Recordings)
