I kogo państwo dopisują? This LP is a special edition for the 25th anniversary of Kharma International ELEONORA'S HOLIDAY is the musical yin and yang of spouses Eleonora and Arie Kuit. The result is a blend of jazz, funky orchestration and a razzlin' dazzlin' performance. Spiced up swing time classics as well as newly arranged tunes prove that jazz is very much alive and kicking. NOW FIRST LET ME TELL YOU HOW I MET WITH ELEONORA. I went to a Dutch Jazz Convention and during diner I found myself seated next to Arie Kuit, a very amiable musician and -as I found out later - also a very talented composer and director. What struck me first was his watch, like mine of the well known Swiss Watch Company Ebel. So we had a nice chat about watches and music and after diner he gave me a demo CD. It was a recording of his wife Eleonora, according to Arie 'a hot vocalist'. You can perhaps imagine that I know many men who claim that their wife is 'a hot vocalist' and who want me to give a listen to their CD. But when I was home again that evening I decided to give a listen to this demo right away and I played it on my Marantz. And I could not believe my ears. Such a delightful voice, such beauty! Next morning I called up Arie to tell him that he and I must make a CD and a vinyl album together. And so here she is: AN EVENING WITH ELEONORA. Listening to her I am on vacation, somewhere where the beaches are pure white and the palm trees are waving. And I predict that she will be the major talent of our label. Fritz de With WHO'S ELEONORA? From early childhood on vocalists like Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson and Diana Ross have had a major impact on Eleonora. Not just for their amazing vocal skills, but furthermore because of their exciting and inspiring lives. This combination of vocal technique, drama and wit is what Eleonora calls 'Method Singing' (as in method acting). Eleonora has won several awards, amongst them the People's Choice Award of the prestigious Dutch Jazz Vocalist Competition in 2003. She is known for several Dutch radio and television commercials. She teaches singing technique, acts in theatre plays, does workshops and writes books based on her own vocal technique 'Method Singing'. Last but not least she is busy as a songwriter and lyricist, inspired by her lifetime icons David Sylvian and Pete Townshend.
