The legendary Swedish vibe player Lars Erstrand (one of the musicians on the famous Jazz at the Pawnshop recordings) and the Finnish clarinet player Antii Sarpila are here caught live from the Astley Gallery. This Gallery, a dynamic arts centre, is housed in Utterberg’s old station buildings in the heart of the ancient ore-mining district of central Sweden. Here, in the warm summer evenings, people enjoy concerts on the station platform. This outdoor concert venue is famous for its unique acoustics – so famous that back in 1992 it was declared Sweden’s first acoustical reserve. Ever since, the surrounding forest has been cultivated in such a way that the natural acoustics of the platform are preserved.
