This album was released following their mega successful US tour supporting Blind Faith and it immediately confirmed the promise of their debut "Tons Of Sobs". Non-stop touring provided the band with a much more muscular sound which is highlighted on "Free" - a much more cohesive effort then their debut. Paul Rodger's grit and gravely, bluesy vocals are on his usual top form, especially on the magnificent "I'll Be Creepin'", "Free Me" and "Songs Of Yesterday".
The band sound at the top of their sinuous and most muscular form on "Free" with Simon Kirke's precision drumming, Andy Fraser's pumping bass and the late Paul Kossoff's deft guitar playing propelling the band the kind of form which would shortly put them on the top of the heap in both the UK and USA. "Free" is another storming piece of history from your friendly vinyl vendors, which needs to be heard on vinyl to be fully appreciated. Trust us!
